Coronavirus in SA surges to 116

The Department of Health has confirmed that the number of people who have tested positive for coronavirus in the country has now reached 116.

Gauteng is still the hardest hit province with 16 new cases – bringing to total to more than 60.

 

In a statement released on Tuesday, Health Minister Zweli Mkhize said there have been 14 newlocal transmissions over the past 24 hours. 

 

"As part of tracking and tracing, we have collated background information on how these patients were infected. We will provide information to the public, to give a sense of how these local transmissions occur," the minister said.
