Correction Services to launch vaccination campaign on Tuesday

The Department of Correctional Services have set up 90 centres which will be used to inoculate prisoners against Covid-19.

The Department of Health will launch the vaccination rollout programme for prisoners and officials on Tuesday.
Spokesperson Chrispin Phiri says the inoculation of officials began last week,
"The vaccination of inmates will commence tomorrow (Tuesday) at 90 approved vaccination sites.
"The Department of Correctional Services has prioritised the vaccination of both officials and inmates to ensure their protection and those of the general public.
"Outbreaks of Covid-19 in correctional centers has the potential to spread to communities, hence the need to vaccinate both inmates and officials.”
