Corrie Pretorius to appeal bail dismissal

The man accused of assaulting a Limpopo teenager, Corrie Pretorius, is set to launch an appeal against the dismissal of his bail application.

Pretorius was denied bail by the Groblersdal Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.
The court ruled that the 49-year-old might be killed if he's released on bail.
Pretorius was filmed assaulting a 16-year-old at a local food outlet in Groblersdal.

During the proceedings, an eyewitness told the court that a group of drunk teenagers provoked the suspect which led to the fight.
He faces charges of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and the pointing of a firearm.
Pretorius will approach the High Court in a bid to be released on bail.
The case has been postponed to 6 September.
