Court grants bail to NHLS employees nabbed for PPE corruption

Two suspects arrested in connection with personal protective equipment tender corruption at the National Health Laboratory Services will be back in court in October.

The two, who were arrested on Sunday, are accused of fraud and corruption totalling around R14.4 million.
They appeared in the Specialised Commercial Crimes Court in Palm Ridge on Monday.
NHLS CFO Michael Sass (57) appeared alongside 32-year-old Felicia Sekete, who is a director at Feliham.

Police spokesperson Katlego Mogale says the pair appeared on charges related to the multi-million tender at the NHLS.
"The case has been postponed to October. Each suspect was granted R20 000 bail."
