Covid-19 hospital admissions continue to increase

Statistics released by the National Institute of Communicable Diseases (NICD) reveal that hospital admissions relating to Covid-19, continue to increase.

This comes as admissions increased by 316 in just 24 hours on Wednesday.
The total number of people now admitted in the country’s hospitals as a result of Covid-19 now stands at 8513.
A further 6762 new Covid-19 cases were recorded by the NICD, reflecting a 15.5% positivity rate.

Covid-19 related deaths are also not slowing down, with 181 fatalities recorded in a 24-hour period.
The total number of people who have succumbed to Covid-19 since the beginning of the pandemic now stands at 92 830.
