Cullinan Care and Rehabilitation Centre closes gates to media
Updated | By JacarandaFM News
The Cullinan Care and Rehabilitation Centre, which is one of the NGOs listed in the Health Ombudsman's report into the death of 94 mentally ill patients, closed its gates to the media this morning.

The death of the mentally ill patients caused an uproar after the report found their deaths at the hands of unlicensed NGOs - where they were transferred to from Life Esidimeni - were not related to their mental illnesses.
The damning report listed 27 NGOs who operated unlawfully.
JacarandaFM News visited the centre, where management instructed security guards to bar all media from entering the premises.
It is understood that the centre is still taking in patients.

Meanwhile, a team appointed by Gauteng Premier David Makhura will examine facilities that can accommodate psychiatric patients.
The provincial government says none of the psychiatric patients accommodated in illegally operating NGO's have been moved yet.
