The DA in Gauteng has called for a full investigations into all contracts and procurement processes at the Johannesburg Roads Agency during the tenure of former Transport MMC Kenny Kunene.

Kunene has resigned from his Mayoral Committee position amid a probe into his presence at the Sandton home of accused businessman Katiso Molefe.
Kunene has since denied knowing Molefe, who is facing charges in the murder case of musician DJ Sumbody.

The DA’s Johannesburg caucus leader, Belinda Kayser-Echeozonjoku, said Kunene’s resignation was not enough.
She called on Johannesburg Mayor Dada Morero to launch a full investigation into all contracts and procurement processes at the Johannesburg Roads Agency and Lilian Ngoyi Street Repairs.
“Kunene had direct political oversight of these processes, organisations, and projects,” said Kayser-Echeozonjoku.
She added should Morero fail to respond to the demand, the DA will take legal action using the information at their disposal.
