“I had corrected what happened last year, when you are at your peak, you are at your peak. I don't know what happened last year, but this year was a correction of that,” Dijana told SABC News at the finishing line.
Dijana added that he has no plans to compete in the ultra-marathon next year.
Meanwhile, Gerda Steyn was the first women runner to cross the finishing line.
She won in a time of 05:51:19
This is Steyn’s fourth win, adding to her victories in the 2019, 2023 and 2024 editions.
