Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla in court to face July unrest charges
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
MK Party MP Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla is set to appear in the High Court in Durban on Thursday.

The 42-year-old daughter of former president Jacob Zuma is facing charges linked to the July 2021 unrest in KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng.
Thursday’s appearance will be Zuma-Sambudla’s first since the case was transferred to the high court and will see her facing three charges, including inciting terrorism and public violence during the unrest.
These charges stem from several inflammatory social media posts that were made on social media platform X, which the state believes fuelled the civil unrest that left over 300 people dead.
She has denied all the charges against her.
The appearance is set to be a fairly short one, with state prosecutors and Zuma-Sambudla's attorneys possibly working out pre-trial issues before the matter can go ahead.
During her bail application in January, she admitted that the arrest of her father triggered the posts on her social media account.
A large number of MK Party supporters, including the former president, are expected to descend on the court to show their support for the lawmaker.
