EFF launching own trade union no surprise - political analyst
Updated | By Xolani Khumalo
A political analyst says the Economic Freedom Fighter's revelation about plans to establish its own labour union should not come as a surprise.

Party leader Julius Malema told supporters in Mpumalanga this past weekend that a workers' union, affiliated to the EFF, is in the pipeline.
He said he was confident it would overtake trade union federation Cosatu, which he's labelled insignificant.
Political analyst Ralph Mothekga says the political party would be within its rights to set up a new union, but adds it won't be an easy road.
"It's not going to be an easy task, it doesn't mean you are just going to have it under the way he just because he wanted to.
"You are contesting a space where unemployment is generally declining. You will be choosing among a small pool of people that are employed as unemployment is quite high.
"That on its own is a limitation, but I would say that an opportunity exists, there is a great deal of fragmentation in the trade union sector."
