The City of Tshwane announced last night that they will undertake
emergency repair work that will lead to the shutdown of the power supply at
Belle Ombre Main Feed Substation today.

The shutdown is expected to affect the Pretoria Central Business District and surrounding areas.
The city’s spokesperson, Selby Bokaba says the shutdown is due to emergency repair work of electrical components that could cause a fire.
“Unfortunately, this inevitable work will negatively impact the power supply to residents and business amenities in the Pretoria Central Business District and nearby areas for 4 hours, from 07h00 until 12h00,” Bokaba said.
“The following areas will be affected Pretoria Central Business District, Sunnyside, Arcadia, Muckleneuk, Groenkloof, Marabastad, Pretoria West industrial areas, Capital Park, Daspoort, Pretoria Gardens, Hermanstad, Hercules, Innesdale, Gezina.”
Bokaba warned residents to always treat all apparatus as live, even when repair work is done to avoid accidents and injury.
He also adds: "The city apologises profusely for the inconvenience that may arise as a result of this emergency repair work."
