Broadcaster eNCA pulls out of EFF conference
Updated | By Sibahle Motha
Television news channel eNCA says it will no longer cover the Economic Freedom Fighter’s (EFF) elective conference.

According to a statement by the broadcaster, the decision was made in solidarity with other media organisations which have been barred from attending the conference.
The Daily Maverick, Scorpio, amaBhungane and Rapport were all barred from covering the EFF’s conference.
The red berets claim that the banned media houses do not report partially and are run as “propaganda machines”.
“This decision, not taken lightly, is an attack on the media freedom in the country and should be condemned in the strongest possible terms,” eNCA says in its statement.
“It’s regrettable the channel will not bring its audience news of the event. eNCA has to take a firm stand on media freedom by standing in solidarity with those organizations that have been barred from attending.”
Earlier, EFF leader Julius Malema criticised an ENCA journalist for a question he asked on the conference’s funding.
Speaking during the party's political report on Saturday, Malema labelled the journalist a ‘domkop’.
