Fatal crash at Buccleuch interchange in Johannesburg

One person died in a crash on the N1 South at the Buccleuch interchange in Johanensburg on Thursday morning.

Authorities are investigating that a broken down vehicle was involved in the accident.
"One vehicle had a breakdown and whilst the owner of the vehicle was trying to assess, then another vehicle crashed behind," says Johannesburg Metro Police Department spokesperson Xolani Fihla.
Motorists have been urged to avoid the N1 South between Midrand and Buccleugh, with massive disruptions as investigations continue and the scene is cleared.

"Officers are on scene, expect heavy delays and motorists are advised to avoid the N1 south between Allandale road and the Buccleuch interchange. They can use Pretoria main road and the R55 Woodmead drive as alternative routes."
Meanwhile at least twenty other accidents have been reported across the province.
