Fire breaks out at SAB Soweto, no injuries reported

The Johannesburg Emergency Services has responded to a fire incident at the South African Breweries in Soweto, near South Gate.

Emergency Medical Services (EMS) spokesperson Xolile Khumalo says blaze reportedly began when grass in a nearby field caught fire.
She said the fire spread and ignited storage crates on the brewery’s premises.
“At this stage, no injuries have been reported. Emergency teams are working swiftly to contain the fire and prevent further damages.” said Khumalo.
The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
Khumalo warned residents to stay away from the area as a safety precaution.
