Limpopo MEC for Transport and Community Safety Dickson Masemola has sent
condolences to the families of five people who were
killed in a crash near Glen Cowie on
Sunday.

The five died when the bakkie they were travelling in collided with a stationary truck at Glen Cowie Village just opposite St. Rita's hospital.

Provincial police spokesperson Moatshe Ngoepe says all five died on the scene.
The driver of the bakkie suffered minor injuries, while a passenger in the truck escaped unharmed.
"Preliminary police investigations revealed that when the incident occurred, the driver of the truck had gone to look for help after a mechanical breakdown,” says Ngoepe.
"The deceased are four males and one female, and the process of identification is still unfolding.”

The exact circumstances leading up to the crash is being investigated.
