Flood-hit Grobler’s Bridge border remains closed
Updated | By Cliff Shiko
The Border Management Authority says the Grobler’s Bridge border with Bostwana will remain closed until further notice.

The port of entry was temporarily shut down two weeks ago following flash floods in in Lephalale.
The water levels reached a point where it significantly compromises the safety and efficient functioning of the port.
In a statement on Wednesday, the BMA said it will take likely another week to resume operations.
"We are pleased to announce that the floodwaters have now subsided, allowing for an assessment of the port infrastructure.
"A thorough inspection was conducted by experts from various engineering disciplines to determine the extent of the damage caused by the flooding.
"Following this assessment, a comprehensive project plan has been developed to address the necessary repairs and ensure the port’s readiness for operational resumption.
"The key activities in the project plan include the repairing of identified damages to the port infrastructure.”
BMA advised travellers to use the Stockpoort and Platjan Ports of Entry, as these are non-commercial ports.
For cargo movements, travellers and truck operators are advised to use Skilpadshek, Ramatlabama, Beitbridge and Kopfontein as alternative Ports of Entry.
