The new leadership will replace the interim task teams in place since the party’s establishment in December 2023.

Secretary-General Floyd Shivambu made the announcement on Thursday, signalling a significant step in formalising the party’s operations.

In Limpopo, Tshilidzi Maraga, a former EFF Limpopo Chairperson who joined the MK Party after the EFF disbanded its provincial leadership post-election, has been appointed as the provincial coordinator.

She will work alongside Charmaine Nel, the provincial convenor, and other key appointees.

Witness Nyembe as convenor will lead the Gauteng leadership, with Moses Makhaza as his Deputy.

The province’s new coordinator is Mzukisi Ronyuza, supported by deputy coordinator Gavin Khungwayo.

Additional leadership roles include former EFF councillor in Johannesburg Musa Novela, who has been appointed as the provincial organiser.

Shivambu also confirmed plans to announce KwaZulu-Natal’s leadership on Friday.

He added that consultations are underway to finalise leadership structures in the North West, Free State, Eastern Cape, and Western Cape.

However, the National High Command has decided that the Northern Cape will not establish a detachment until sufficient groundwork has been done.

Shivambu called for discipline within the party.

"No one is permitted to constitute parallel structures or processes beyond the mandate of the organisation. We will decisively act against elements defying the decisions of upper structures.”

He added that the leadership changes would not impact the party’s caucuses in Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal provincial legislatures.
