Former Limpopo principal facing rape charges
Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
A former Limpopo school principal is facing charges of rape involving a 15-year-old girl.

He is accused of luring the 15-year-old girl to his home during school hours and sexually assaulting her. The man is set to apply for bail in the Lenyenye Magistrate's Court outside Tzaneen on Tuesday.
The police’s Moatshe Ngoepe says the man handed himself over to police.
"It’s alleged the suspect, who is a former principal of a private school in Nkowa outside Tzaneen, called the girl out of school premises saying he wanted to give her a message and subsequently took her to his home in Loraine Village where he raped her. The victim opened a case of rape and later the suspect handed himself over to the police after he found out he was wanted by the police.

Ngoepe says they cannot reveal whether the man was still a principal at the time of the incident, as this would jeopardise the case.
"We cannot confirm the school he was working at nor the school the 15-year-old girl is attending to protect her.”
