Fose murder: Bail proceedings stall over ‘new evidence’
Updated | By Jacaranda FM
Bail proceedings in the case of a 39-year-old man accused of killing Likhona Fose have been postponed until next Wednesday.

Mduduzi Mnisi appeared briefly before the Roodepoort Magistrates Court, where he faces one count of murder.
Mnisi’s girlfriend was expected to take the stand on Wednesday after he told the court that she could vouch for his whereabouts the night the teenager went missing.
However, when she was called up Mnisi’s lawyer, Khaeyo Kgokong, said he was informed that she had been led into the court precinct – but when he tried to get hold of her, she did not answer her phone.
Kgokong also told the court that they would need a postponement considering new evidence in the bail investigation, which they want the state to follow up on.
Magistrate Delise Smith granted the postponement.
On Tuesday, the accused testified in his bid for bail.
He denied ever knowing the deceased, adding that he knew nothing about the alleged crime.

The victim’s uncle, Thozamile Mlenze, says the family is displeased Mnisi’s witness did not testify.
“We’re going back home, and we aren’t happy because we thought that today we would get more information. But we can’t force the law. We wish that whoever is responsible for this, whether it’s a man or a woman, that the government doesn’t let them go. They must take the key and throw it in the river so that whoever it is never does it again.”
Fose’s body was discovered by a passerby in an open veld around Durban Deep, west of Johannesburg, nearly two days after she was reported missing.
Her genitals had been removed, prompting the involvement of the police’s occult unit in the investigation.
Mnisi was arrested just over a week following the grim discovery.
