Four die in KZN bakkie crash
Four people have died in a head-on collision between two bakkies in Georgedale, KwaZulu-Natal traffic authorities said on Friday.
KwaZulu-Natal Road Traffic Inspectorate spokeswoman Zinhle Mngomezulu said the collision occurred near the Georgedale railway station shortly before midnight on Thursday.
Georgedale is close to Cato Ridge, which is midway between Durban and Pietermaritzburg.
Mngomezulu said an off-duty police officer from the Camperdown police station was among the three men and a woman who died. One other person was taken to hospital in a serious condition.
She said the cause of the collision was not known and police were investigating.
