Fraud fugitive Adriaan van Vuuren found dead

Alleged fraudster Adriaan van Vuuren has been found dead in his Centurion hotel room.

The Hawks says the former Trudon IT manager is suspected to have suffocated himself with a gas inside the hotel room this afternoon.
He allegedly defrauded Telkom subsidiary Trudon of R500million.
"It is alleged that Van Vuuren checked in at Centurion Lake Hotel in Pretoria last night for a night stay only and was supposed to have checked out at 10:00 this morning.
"His body was discovered at noon by the hotel staff members who wanted to clean the room. It is suspected that he allegedly suffocated himself with a gas inside the hotel room," the Hawks says.
It's alleged that between 2007 and 2016, van Vuuren fraudulently created invoices to pay a supplier for it services required by Trudon on behalf of Telkom.
Trudon transferred funds into an account owned by his accomplice Sonja Joubert who is believed to have fled to New Zealand.
