Freedom Day long weekend: Heavy traffic expected on N3
Updated | By Mmangaliso Khumalo
The N3 Toll Concession has warned motorists to expect heavy traffic along the N3 southbound direction towards KwaZulu-Natal as many people travel home for the Freedom day long weekend.

The concession's Chief Operator, Thania Dhoogra, says motorists can expect peak traffic from midday on Friday.
Dhoogra reminded motorists that law enforcement and other road incident management teams will be deployed to maintain a highly visible presence all along the N3 toll route.
"Road users are reminded to always be prepared for sudden changes in route and weather conditions which could impact the flow of traffic, and cause congestion and delays, especially during peak traffic periods.
"Always allow for unforeseen circumstances when planning your road trip. Passengers can support drivers by being an extra pair of eyes, helping to monitor their surroundings, and anticipate dangerous situations".
She advised motorists to follow the instructions of law enforcement officials and report any emergencies while traveling on the N3 route between Cedera in KZN and Heidelberg in Gauteng.
