‘Full investigation’ needed into website selling matric exam
Updated | By Selaki Ledwaba
Anti-crime activist Yusuf Abramjee says he has received several calls from individuals claiming that a website sells National Senior Certificate exam results for R100.

The NSC exam results are only due to be announced on Tuesday.
Abramjee said if policies and laws have been broken, the Department of Basic Education needs to respond and hold those accountable to account.
“On Saturday, I checked the website, and it appears to be legit. A number of candidates who sat for exams were able to confirm that they paid R100 and were able to get their matric results, full detailed matric results, by email,” said Abramjee.
The Department of Basic Education has not responded to the allegations.
“There are a lot of questions that need to be answered on exactly how this leak was possible, and if someone is making money,” Abramjee added.
He said if only 10% of the over 800,000 matric candidates who sat for exams visit this website, the perpetrator will cash out about eight million rands.
Abramjee has called on the department to open a full investigation into how the results were leaked.
