Gabriella Engels files court application
Updated | By Nathan Daniels
A court application against Zimbabwean first lady, Grace Mugabe has been filed.

Civil rights organisation, AfriForum and Gabriella Engels have filed a review application in the North Gauteng High court in Pretoria, asking the court to set aside a decision by International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO) minister, Maite Nkoana-Mashabane.
AfriForum's Wille Spies says the application seeks answers from Nkoana-Mashabane for her decision to grant diplomatic immunity to the Zimbabwean president's wife, Grace Mugabe.
The Zimbabwean first lady is accused of assaulting Engels and hitting her on the head with an extension cord at a Sandton hotel.

"Ms Engels also states in her affidavit that the Foreign States Immunities Act explicitly excludes the granting of immunity to heads of state who are guilty of the death or injury of people in South Africa," says Spies.
