Gauteng remains on high alert amid shutdown threats - Makhura
Updated | By Eva Chipa
The Gauteng provincial government says law enforcement agencies are on
high alert follow the threats of a national shutdown on Monday.

This comes as a poster has been circulating on social media, warning of a national shutdown, together with a march through Durban in KwaZulu-Natal.
Premier David Makhura says residents in Gauteng should report any suspicious activity to the police.
“I call on the people of Gauteng to work with the police and community policing forums to ensure that no acts of violence and criminality see the light of day in our communities. Law enforcement agencies stand ready to defend institutions of democracy and protect economic infrastructure.”
