GDE acts over incomplete repairs at Noordgesig school
Updated | By Jacaranda FM
The Gauteng Education Department has suspended two inspectors from its Infrastructure Unit linked to the Noordgesig Secondary School repair project.

A fire destroyed several classrooms at the Soweto school in June last year.
The department's spokesperson, Steve Mabona, said on Wednesday that funds were allocated for urgent repairs and rehabilitation work at the school
Despite this, Mabona said some upgrades were allegedly incomplete or not done.
“The department has now launched an internal investigation to determine the full facts surrounding the handling of the project. Subsequently, we will announce the outcome of said investigation once it has been completed.”
An electrical fault is suspected to have been the cause of the fire.
