A giant sinkhole partially swallowed a car with a family inside in Malvern, south of Durban, on Tuesday.

The car and four family members plunged into the sinkhole on the corner of Main and Ridley Park roads.
The four occupants were rescued from the incident and treated for various injuries.
"Paramedics found that local towing operators had rescued a family of four out of the waters," said ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson.
"The vehicle had submerged in a massive sinkhole.
"Paramedics assessed and found that the four occupants, two adults and two children, had sustained minor to moderate injuries as a result of the crash and treated them on scene before transporting them to Durban hospitals."
