Glitch at Sandton vaccine site resolved

Discovery Health officials say a glitch on the electronic system at the Sandton vaccine site has been resolved.

This comes after the site temporarily opened for walk-ins on Wednesday.
The Discovery Place site experienced a scheduling glitch leading to bookings not being allocated for the Covid vaccine jabs.
To avoid a day without vaccinations at the site, the site was opened to limited walk-ins for people over 70-years of age.
“Discovery would like to confirm that the national EVDS registration and scheduling system for COVID-19 vaccines is working and scheduling recipients appropriately. Any comments attributed to Discovery about EVDS not working are false and misplaced,” Discovery Health CEO Ryan Noach said in a statement.
“The site is now fully occupied and cannot accommodate any further walk-ins. The vaccination centre will revert to scheduled visits on EVDS from tomorrow again,” he added.
“EVDS is scheduling and allocating vaccines efficiently, and we’re working closely with the Department of Health team to vaccinate the scheduled recipients.”
