A 21-year-old pupil has been arrested in connection with the killing of a Grade 11 pupil at a school in Vlakfontein, south of Johannesburg.

The 20-year-old pupil succumbed to his injuries after he was stabbed with a sharp object in the chest at Qalabotjha Secondary School on Thursday afternoon.
The grade 11 pupil was certified dead at a local clinic.
Police say the 21-year-old is facing a charge of murder.
"The arrested learner is expected to appear before Lenasia Magistrate Court in due course," says police spokesperson Mavela Masondo.
The Department of Education in Gauteng has blamed "gangsterism" after a fight broke out between a group of boys outside the school's premises.
Investigations into the motive of the deadly brawl are underway while a psychosocial team is expected to visit the school in the south of Johannesburg on Friday.
