Gwede Mantashe gets his day at the state capture commission
Updated | By Neo Motloung
The African National Congress (ANC) National Chairperson and
Minister of Mineral Resources, Gwede Mantashe, is expected to testify at the commission of inquiry into state capture on Tuesday.

Mantashe will be the first ANC leader - who was not a member of Cabinet when the alleged state capture took place - to testify at the commission.
He is expected to address allegations into the party's decision to call several of the country's major banks to Luthuli House over the closing of the controversial Gupta family accounts.
The governing party is also expected to make submissions regarding evidence given by the banks.
Mantashe will lead a delegation of ANC officials, including deputy secretary-general Jessie Duarte and Enoch Godongwana, the ANC's head of economic transformation.
The ANC's Zizi Kodwa said last week that the party is ready to appear in front of the commission and will not shy away from its responsibility as the governing party.
"The second part of our submission will be led by the president [Cyril Ramaphosa]. Having heard all the submissions, some of the revelations are embarrassing to the African National Congress."
He adds the governing party will do everything in its power to support the commission.
