Hawks to finalise Tom Moyane probe
Updated | By Neo Motloung
The Hawks have until the end of the month to finalise their investigation into suspended South African Revenue Service (Sars) boss Tom Monaye.

Moyane was suspended by President Cyril Ramaphosa following accusations of gross misconduct over his handling of an investigation into former senior SARS official Jonas Makwakwa.
Hawks spokesperson, Hangwani Mulaudzi, says the investigators still have a few statements to collect before the case will be referred to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA).
"We have been given a deadline before the end of the month," says Mulaudzi.
The NPA will only take the decision on the possible prosecution of Monyane after the Hawks hand in the docket, says Mulaudzi.
An early docket into the investigations of Monyane was sent back by the NPA for the Hawks to conduct further investigations.
"It relates to issues of section 34, allegations are that Mr. Monyane did not report alleged corruption that was happening at Sars,” Mulaudzi says.
