Heightened police visibility in Gauteng ahead of the Easter weekend

The Gauteng Traffic Police (GTP) says there will be heightened police visibility in the province, due to an increase in traffic volumes ahead of the Easter weekend.

This comes as several suspects were arrested in the province, for speeding and negligent driving on Wednesday.
Gauteng Traffic Police Spokesperson, Sello Maremane, confirmed the arrest of two people who were speeding in a 120km/h zone. “A thirty-year-old suspect was speeding at 209km/h in a VW Polo on the N4, while a Twenty-eight year old suspect was speeding at 170km/h in a white BMW 320d on the N4 freeway," he says.
Maremane called on all motorists to avoid reckless and negligent driving ahead of the Easter festive season.
