Human Rights Commission sets its sights on Agrizzi over k-word

The Human Rights Commission on Wednesday said it intends taking former Bosasa executive Angelo Agrizzi to the Equality Court.

Agrizzi admitted to being a racist at the commission of inquiry into state capture and was also heard using the k-word numerous times in a video clip.

“The commission finds this conduct shocking given the country’s history,” says deputy chairperson Priscilla Jana. “The SAHRC views this very seriously and will not accept and tolerate racism.
"The commission views this very seriously particularly in our country with respect to history that we have gone through. We think his statement is very harmful, not only to the people involved, but to the whole of South Africa.”
The commissions wants the Equality Court to submit the matter to the National Prosecuting Authority to institute criminal charges against Agrizzi.
