Husband killed after Limpopo farm attack

Police were investigating a case of murder and house robbery after a farmer was found dead in Modimolle, Limpopo, police said on Monday.

Spokeswoman Colonel Ronel Otto said neighbours noticed a fire at the Lotters’ farm on Sunday and went to investigate.
“On arrival they found the body of Mr Robbie Lotters, 69, in front of the house which was on fire, he died as a result of severe wounds to his head. At this stage his wife, Ina Lotters, 64, is missing, we are using dogs as well as trackers in the search for her,” said Colonel Ronel Otto.
Several items that were taken from the house were found scattered in nearby bushes, she said.
“A quadbike and other stolen items from the house were found abandoned in Phagameng outside of Modimolle,” she said.
No arrests have been made.
