'I will be selling my cows on Saturday' - Ramaphosa
President Cyril Ramaphosa has confirmed that an auction will be held at his private Phala Phala farm in Limpopo on Saturday.
The annual auction is hosted by the Ankole Cattle Breeders' Society of South Africa.
In an interview with the SABC radio station Umhlobo Wenene in Mthatha on Youth Day, Ramaphosa confirmed that he will be selling some of his favourite Ankole cows to the highest bidders.
"This will be an auction for cows and not wild animals. Sixteen breeders, including me, will be selling our own cattle at the auction. There is nothing more special about it, this is an auction that takes place all the time.”
The game farm has been in the headlines over the past few weeks after the theft of an undisclosed amount of foreign currency came to light.
Earlier this month, former spy boss Arthur Fraser opened a case against the president, alleging that Ramaphosa kidnapped, interrogated the suspects who stole his money on the farm and bribed them to lay down the matter.
