Infamous Johannesburg ‘arsonist’ finally arrested
Updated | By Mmangaliso Khumalo
The CEO of private security company Fidelity Services Wahl Bartmann says the suspect was walking in the street at the time of his arrest.

The suspected arsonist has been terrorizing the eastern and northern suburbs of Johannesburg over the past two years.
The suspect was nabbed, following a tip-off, while walking on foot in Emmarentia on Tuesday.
"Fortunately, there were no shots fired and no injuries to report,” says CEO of Fidelity Services Group Wahl Bartmann.
Fires at homes in the Bryanston, Houghton, Dunkeld, Illovo, Hyde Park and surrounding areas have all been linked to the suspect.
"In April this year, Fidelity offered a R100 000 reward for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the alleged arsonist and instituted a tip off line for anyone that had information relating to these events."
Police spokesperson Brenda Muridili says the suspect will appear before the Randburg Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
