IO rubbishes Meek's claim she was 'framed' for son's murder

On the second day of his testimony, the investigating officer dismissed claims by the accused that she had been framed.

Tiffany Meek continued her bid for bail in the Roodepoort Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, where she faces charges linked to the murder of her 11-year-old son, Jayden.
Meek died of blunt force trauma to the head.
The boy's mother had reported him missing before his half-naked body was discovered in the stairwell at the Fleurhof residential complex in May.

The prosecutor led the investigating officer through Meek's bail affidavit.
He denies Meek's claim that she's being framed for her son's murder.
"The investigation has, from the onset, been done the way it was supposed to. I don't see any reason why we should frame someone."
The investigating officer detailed the discovery of traces of blood in the flat, on the boy's clothes and school bag on the 14th of May.
He disputed Meek's claim in her bail affidavit that police found bloodstained underwear and bed sheets.
"On the underwear, I didn't see blood. There was a towel that had traces of blood that led to the drain of the bathtub."
In her bail affidavit, the 31-year-old questioned the two-month delay before her arrest - if indeed evidence of bloodstains was found in her flat on the day the boy's body was found.
"We don't arrest to investigate; we investigate to arrest...the blood that was found on the pillows had to be taken to biology to be analysed, and that is not something that can be done overnight. The postmortem report, the doctor couldn't give a final report immediately. The postmortem report points to what caused the death; therefore, we couldn't just arrest the suspect. "
The court also heard that the postmortem report revealed that he had no defensive wounds, implying he did not fight with his killer.
Meek became emotional in court as the investigating officer read out details of the report, which indicated bleeding on the brain (haemorrhage) caused by blunt force trauma to the head.
The matter was adjourned until Wednesday.
