Jabulani Khumalo challenges removal from MK parliamentary list

Expelled uMkhonto weSizwe member Jabulani Khumalo has filed an urgent application at the Western Cape High Court to interdict his removal from the party’s parliamentary list.

Khumalo insists he remains the leader of the party, despite the decision by the Jacob Zuma-led party to expel him.
Khumalo, regarded as the founder of the MK party, was expelled before the elections.
He is candidate number one on a list of members who will represent the party in Parliament.
The party has, however, since written to Parliament asking that Khumalo not be sworn in.
He was replaced by former president Zuma as leader, who insists that none of the party MPs will attend the first sitting until the IEC addresses its claims of vote rigging.
However, Khumalo insists he will attend the first sitting of the National Assembly to get sworn in as a Member of Parliament.
