Laloo Chiba to be laid to rest

Anti-Apartheid struggle stalwart and ANC veteran, Laloo Chiba, will be laid to rest in Lenasia on Saturday.

He was also a board member of the Ahmed Kathrada Foundation.
Chiba was hospitalised after a mild heart attack.
He later died at his home. He was 87 years old.
Former President, Kgalema Motlanthe, is expected to speak at his funeral.
Chiba was sentenced to 18 years imprisonment on Robben Island Prison and served his time alongside Nelson Mandela, Walter Sisulu and Kathrada.
He was also responsible for the transcription and smuggling out of prison the autobiography of Mandela, Long Walk to Freedom, with struggle veteran Mac Maharaj.
His final resting place is the Avalon cemetery crematorium.
