Leaked matric exam papers to be re-written
Updated | By Karabo Tebele
Matrics will have to rewrite the leaked Mathematics and Physical Science exams, Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga says.

Motshekga made the announcement on Friday afternoon.
This after the two papers were leaked on the eve of the exam last month.
Motshekga says both papers will be re-written.
“The decision has to be taken and want to say having considered all factors including our engagements with Umalusi, we agreed as CEM that there must be a national rewrite of your Maths paper 2 and your Physical Science Paper 2.
“It is the first time in our history that we have a national rewrite, it is a very difficult decision, and I must say a very sad decision to take, we have had provincial rewrite, but it is the first time ever that we find ourselves to rewrite.”
“The Maths paper will be written on Tuesday, the 15th of December, we couldn’t find an early date, timetable chock a block, but we also felt that they need time to refresh themselves.
“Unfortunately, we could not find any other space so the Physical Science Paper 2 will be written on Thursday the 17th of December. We know it is going to be difficult for families that might have been prepared themselves to leave after the 15th, especially the fact that the 16th is a public holiday,” says Motshekga.
