The Deputy Minister of Police, Polly Boshielo, and Deputy Minister of Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities, Steve Letsike, are expected to visit the family of slain Likhona Fose.

The 14-year-old’s mutilated body was discovered by a passerby in a bush in Durban Deep, west of Johannesburg, on Sunday.
Police have asked for the public’s help in tracing the perpetrators.
Gauteng police spokesperson Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi says all relevant resources have been mobilised to investigate the teen’s murder.
“Resources have been mobilised to ensure that culprits responsible for this heinous attack are behind bars and brought to book. Police are calling upon any person to assist with information that can lead to the arrest of the culprits to contact Crime Stop Line at 08600 10111 or report anonymous tip-offs on MySapsApp, which can be downloaded on any smartphone.”
Meanwhile, the Gauteng Education Department’s Steve Mabona has condemned the killing.
“While police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding this brutal incident, we are devastated by the occurrence of young Likhona’s death during National Child Protection Week, where we raise awareness of the rights of children as articulated in our Constitution.”
“Furthermore, the GDE stands with the nation in condemning all acts of Gender-Based Violence and Femicide, especially where learners are concerned,” he said.
