Life in prison for Limpopo dad who killed his 4 children
Updated | By Anastasi Mokgobu
The Polokwane High court in Limpopo has handed down four life sentences to a father who killed his four young children.

The children were between the ages of 3 and 9.
Lucas Phasha (52), who is a lawyer, has been on trial for the brutal murder of his four children since last year.
Their bodies were found in the bushes about 5 kilometres from their home in Sekhukhune in February last year.
At the time of the murders, Phasha was out on parole following a previous murder conviction.
Limpopo MEC for Social Development Nkakareng Rakgoale believes the sentence will serve as a deterrent to would-be abusers and murderers of children.
“We feel much relieved honestly speaking especially because this comes at the time when we are commemorating International child protection week which is sending a message to the public out there that we do have a responsibility all of us to protect the children and this is making us feel good because at least justice has been served so we are happy as the department.”
