Lifestyle audits: Lesufi reshuffles Gauteng HODs
Updated | By Cliff Shiko
Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi has made changes to the Heads of Departments in the province following life style audit reports.

The reports and recommendations were made by the Gauteng Ethics Advisory Council.
The shake-up is aimed at strengthening accountability and combating corruption in the provincial government.
As of October 2024, the Gauteng government had 750 senior managers, 732 of whom were either already vetted or in the process of achieving a 98% compliance rate.
In the previous financial year, the provincial department underspent R1,8 billion, while Senior Management Service members failed lifestyle audits.
Including, under performance by some departments, payment of services that were out of the ordinary and damming forensic reports.
Lesufi announced in the Gauteng Legislature on Thursday.
"Last month, I released 49 forensic reports that have been finalised by law enforcement agencies and departments. We have now taken a firm decision to reset the administration and make changes."
In June, Lesufi released the forensic reports that were referred to the Public Protector, the Special Investigating Unit, and the National Prosecuting Authority for investigation.
The reports from multiple departments covered a range of discoveries, including the alleged abuse of state resources, irregular and unauthorised expenditure, theft, unfair labour practices, ghost employees, and suspected fraud.
At the time, the premier said all provincial government departments have committed to fully implementing the recommendations from these reports.
According to Lesufi, more than 80 officials had undergone consequence management, while more than 50 criminal cases had been registered with the authorities.
