Lights out in Roodepoort due to planned maintenance
Power outages hit parts of Roodepoort on the West Rand on Sunday due to planned maintenance at Manufacta Substation.
City Power spokesperson Isaac Mangena said power is set to be restored at 4pm on Sunday.
He said the maintenance is part of the utility's efforts to ensure the lights remain on, and to provide better service to residents.
"We often do this most of time when its time for the planned maintenance to kick in which is part of what we plan for the whole year. We apologise to all the affceted customers. We may actually return power earlier than the announced time," said Mangena.
