He says while the whole country is experiencing cold winter season now, parts of Limpopo such as Phalaborwa and Bela Bela offers a warm winter.
Matibe launched a winter campaign to attract tourists at the Mopani Rest Camp at the Kruger National Park on Friday.
"Limpopo presents two summers. It's a hot summer and a warm summer and a cool summer," says Matibe.
"So, everyone who wants to enjoy summer in winter had to come to Limpopo."
He says the province annually attracts around 600,000 international tourists and now they are targeting to attract at least 1 million international tourists.
"For domestic tourism, because domestic tourism is one of the key tourism aspects of tourism in the province, we are around 8 million.
"Our target is that we go beyond that to around 10 million. So if we achieve 10 million for us, we will remain number one in the country."
