Limpopo in midst of GBV ‘pandemic’ - Ramathuba
Updated | By Lesetja Makhura
Limpopo Premier Phophi Ramathuba has called for a more collaborative approach in the battle against gender-based violence.

Ramathuba, who has been in office for only a week, has labelled the scourge as a pandemic.
She urged healthcare workers, law enforcement, and the NPA to work together to ensure that victims get the justice they deserve.
"When it is gender-based violence, you must treat it as much as an emergency, even more than the gunshots, drunken stab wounds. Because those ones decide to go to liquor outlets and stab each other," she said.
"A woman is sitting at home, gets raped. A woman is sitting at home and gets killed."
Ramathuba spoke at the home of a 31-year-old woman who was stabbed to death, allegedly by her 30-year-old boyfriend in Seshego outside Polokwane on Monday.
The suspect has since been arrested.
Ramathuba was accompanied on her visit to the family by the MEC for Social Development, Florence Radzilani, and the MEC of Transport and Community Safety, Violet Mathye.
