[LISTEN] Fatal car crash in the Kruger National Park
Updated | By Jacaranda FM News / Press Statements
Two day visitors to the Kruger National Park (KNP) died in a
car accident late on Thursday afternoon.

SA National Parks (SANParks) spokesperson Ike Phaahla says the visitors were travelling between Olifants and Letaba camps at the time of the accident.
They had entered the KNP earlier in the afternoon through the Phalaborwa gate.
“The distances between where the accident occurred and the gate is further away,” adds Phaahla.
Initial reports suggest there was no other vehicle involved.
“We don’t want to speculate, we would just like the SAPS to investigate and inform the families and the public at the appropriate time,” says Phaahla.
He says eyewitnesses reported that the car veered off the road and overturned.
Both the deceased were South Africans.
Phaahla has appealed to people to desist from speculating on the circumstances surrounding the accident.
In the meantime, day visitors to the park are urged to carefully plan their trips in order to avoid speeding.
The name of the deceased cannot be released as their next of kin have not yet been informed.
