[LISTEN] He is not crazy, claims rights group ahead of Ninow court appearance
Updated | By Nathan Daniels
Rape accused Nicholas Ninow is expected to appear in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has confirmed that a bed has been secured for Ninow in the Weskoppies Psychiatric Hospital in Pretoria.
His appearance is expected to be brief, with the court is expected to order the admission for mental evaluation.
“He is not crazy, he knew exactly what he was doing,” said a passionate Themba Masango to Jacaranda FM on Tuesday.
Masango, the secretary-general of the movement against gender-based violence, Not In My Name, believes Ninow’s suspected defence of insanity will fail.

Ninow is yet to proclaim his innocence or guilt following the rape of a seven-year-old girl in the bathroom of a Dros restaurant in Pretoria last year.
Masango believes the accused alleged intention to plea insanity is a “slap in the face from people that suffers from bipolar – a lot of people that suffer from bipolar isn’t rapists”.
He says the family has been dumped in sorrow and sadness following the horrific incident.
