Protests outside Luthuli House

Protests in support of - and against - President Jacob Zuma are underway at Luthuli House.

The Black First Land First (BLF) are leading a #HandsOffZuma march, calling for Zuma to be allowed to serve out his term, while African National Congress (ANC) members from Gauteng are calling for him to step down.

This comes after a night of political drama in Pretoria on Sunday, where the ANC's top leaders met with the President - reportedly asking him to step down.

National Chairperson Gwede Mantashe tweeted ahead of the meeting that they need the country's prayers - since "the meeting will be held in the light of creating stability in the country".

No word yet from the ANC on the outcome, but EFF leader Julius Malema said on Twitter he's been informed the president refused to step down ahead of Thursday's State of the Nation Address, and that the ANC has called for an urgent meeting of its National Working Committee - to be held on Monday afternoon
