Eskom says stage 2 load shedding will continue during Thursday evening’s peak from 4 pm to 10 pm, but will be suspended afterwards.

The utility says 1,175 megawatts have already been restored since the start of the week, and another 1,850 megawatts are expected to return by Friday evening.
“These improvements contribute to overall system stability, supported by sufficient emergency reserves, which will be strategically deployed when necessary,” Eskom spokesperson Daphne Mokwena said.
“Our teams continue working with determination and dedication to reinforce grid stability, accelerating generation unit restorations from outages. Notably, load shedding occurrences have declined compared to previous years.”
Mokwena added that Eskom would closely monitor the system and provide updates if any adjustments are required.
